Sunday, August 1st

Today we learned a new verb form - verbs with four letter roots. These basically follow the Piel format, although there is no yud in the shoresh. They are commonly used for foreign words, or words that describe noises.

Example:

הוא מקלקל (present)
הוא קלקל (kilkel) (past)
הוא יקלקל (future)

Passive (huphal) form is מקולקל (mkulkal).

Another verb of this form was לפורסם - lforsam - to publish, to advertise.
Huphal form was מפורסם - mefoorsam - famous.
לסלוח - to pardon, to forgive - liloach
ליסבול -to bear, stand, suffer
סבלנות - patience
זה לו נסבל - niphal form - it's unbearable

קר לי - I'm cold
חם לי - I'm hot
טוב לי - it's good for me
